Demo Patch 1.01 – First Update & Fixes

Alrighty, time for the first patch! This update primarily focuses on bug fixes, QoL improvements, and addressing some of the most common feedback from players. Let’s jump right in!

🔥 Major Hotfix – Freeze After First Battle

Some players experienced the game freezing after completing the first battle tutorial. This happened if all tutorial steps (Move, Attack, Use Ability, etc.) weren’t followed exactly, leaving the tutorial incomplete.

To fix this, the tutorial is now automatically marked as completed once the first battle ends, regardless of whether all steps were manually triggered. This should eliminate the issue entirely.

If you ran into this bug make sure to use Reset in the main menu and resetting the tutorial in settings. If any issues persist, let me know!

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Frozen units from Blancara’s Frost Breath can no longer block or retaliate (obviously, haha).

  • Equipment that provides armor couldn’t be unequipped if it was damaged or depleted. Now, you’ll get a clear tooltip error message informing you that repairs are needed before unequipping. Previously, only the error sound played.

  • Jupo’s Madness Potion could be thrown on empty hexes—this is now fixed.

  • Soratros’ Spinning Attack ability description incorrectly stated that it could damage allied units, but that was never the case. The description has been corrected.

🛠 Quality of Life Improvements

  • Easier Character Navigation

    • You can now navigate between character details using arrows instead of having to close and reopen different characters.

    • This works in both the Collection and the Squad menu on the map screen, keeping the current tab (Abilities, Items, etc.) open as you switch.

  • Reset Confirmation & Settings Improvements

    • Resetting your progress in the main menu now requires confirmation, preventing accidental resets.

    • Volume settings now have separate sliders for Music and SFX.

    • Resetting the tutorial now shows a tooltip, confirming that it worked.

📌 Other Notes

  • Some players reported that Jupo’s Madness Potion wasn’t increasing movement properly. I tested it, and it worked fine for me. Keep in mind: The effect lasts for 3 turns, so if you throw the potion at someone and they don’t act until 4 turns later, the effect will have already expired. I’ll keep an eye on this one!

🔜 Next Patch (Planned for the Weekend)

This was a small update, but I’m already working on the next patch, which will include:

Better display of stats, effects, and abilities for enemies & characters during battle

Option to heal/repair armor for all characters in the collection

More detailed ability damage info

Access to base formulas—how damage, effects, and stats are calculated

Post-battle level-up window with detailed information

More bug fixes & general polish.

Thanks for all the amazing feedback so far! Keep it coming, and I’ll continue improving things 💪🔥

Let me know if I forgot something.
